The Teens' Ministry
This is a unique set of young people who are very energetic and have positive dreams. They range between the ages of 13-19 years.  They are classified into two separate groups.
  • The junior adolescent 13-15 years
  • The senior adolescent 16-19 years

The senior adolescents act like adults and yet are not, neither are they children for that matter.  One must be careful in the way that they are handled.

The junior adolescents also have their own life altogether and really want to spend much of their time with their friends rather than their families, and are easily carried away by their peers.

The teenage ministry is a church on its own.  It is run exactly as the adult church is run. The teens handle every activity except for the word delivery and announcement which is done by the Pastor in charge and the teachers.
The teens church records on the average 1,500 people every Sunday. However, during holidays, the number increases.

PROGRAMME
They have two major activities in the year.

  • The long vacation programme dubbed the August programme and
  • The camp meeting held in December.

TEACHING
Imparting the word of God to the children is the preoccupation of the department.  Every lesson taught is taken from the adult church. Teaching outlines are prepared after a management board has sat down to discuss appropriate topics that go with the doctrines and tenets of the church.  No teacher is allowed to teach any other thing apart from what had been agreed upon at previous meetings.

TEACHERS
Teachers at this department are full members of the church.  They are all volunteers who are interested in teaching teenagers and have the love for them and also love to work in the department.  Teachers are literate but not necessarily trained teachers though some of them are.  The desire to help mold the lives of the little ones entrusted to our care qualifies one to work in this department.

SUPERVISION
The department is headed by a pastor in charge, who is appointed by the presiding Bishop.  Under him is a management board made up of coordinators and supervisors. The board issues instructions to the various supervisors who see to the day to day running of the department.

All issues are directed to the pastor in charge who forwards them to the Bishop for attention.  Daily, weekly and quarterly reports are sent on work done and also to report on challenges facing the department for action to be taken on them.

The teens department even though is a ministry on its own, operates under the authority of the adult church taking every order from leadership.
